Just got my 01 1500 sport a few weeks back from stepdad. Wasn't running when I got but got all that solved and drove it down to school with me. But now I suspect a bad water pump. It was slowly losing coolant but the other day I parked it and it leaked a ton from the drivers side right upfront where I believe the water pump is. I'm going to dive into it this weekend to get a good look but is that a decent place to start? My step dad thinks it was replaced but he was not one to do much but check his own oil so I can't say it was replaced for sure or it was done correct so thanks for the help guys.
How 'up front' is it? Water pump is actually just above the front axle, slightly forward. If you are seeing puddles under the bumper, that is more than likely the radiator, or a hose.

If I remember correctly it seemed like it may have come from slightly behind the radiator it was late when it happened so I didn't have a lot of time to look at it but I think it was closer to the bumper than the front axle
If running down the front of the engine on drivers side could also be the bypass hose. Gonna have to try and get a good look at exactly where it's leaking from. May have to move AC comp. out of the way to see.

I didn't see anything leaking down the engine but like I said haven't had chance to look into it good between school and work but thanks for the suggestion ill make sure to look into that too
A leaking water pump is often only seen dripping from the front lip of the oil pan... the path to this point is kind of obstructed and not easily seen.

Check hose clamps on the Rad also inspect the tank seams on the rad
Thanks guys it seems from the replies I am most likely looking at the hoses and clamps and radiator itself as the source hopefully get it solved this weekend when I have the time
