Angry 95 Ram 1500 5.9 Shift issues :(

I have a 1995 dodge ram 1500 with the 360 engine and 46rh transmission...Truck has 145k on it.. Previous owner has told me he "Replaced" the transmission and has a receipt. I only paid 1600 for the truck and its in decent condition. Now onto the problem... Transmission had a few leaks and i ended up fixing them.. tranny fluid level is good.. Truck never gets past 2500 rpms even if i floor it. It always shifts extremely fast and hard right after i take off. even if i get on it, it still shifts hard and lurches fairly bad. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas out there!
Thanks!

Start with adjusting the TV cable. Procedure is posted around here in a few places. It's also in the 95 service manual that you can download from the FAQ section.

Ok... Last week bought TSS and reset ecu because I lost overdrive and speedo.. That fixed that..now the tv cable..had my gf hold gas to floor and it only moved about halfway..I could still move it about twice as far..bracket on throttle body feels like it has a little play in cable
