Default Problem with Edge Evo HT

I recently bought the edge evo ht for my 1500 5.2 and when I followed all of the steps it would not stop coming up with the error of failing to upload stock data; can anyone help?

And is it a diesel? Moved this out of the faq/diy section, as it doesn't belong there. Give us more info about what you are working on here, to make sure it gets put in the right spot.

I don't think it's an oil burner.

So it is obdII then. Have you tried reseting the pcm before trying to upload the tune? Sure ya got the right programmer? If yes to both give Edge a call and see what they got to say.

Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer.

Alright so I got ahold of them and they finally got back with me and ran some tests through the internet on my tuner, and told me that there are communication errors with it reading the truck, and that that is a sure sign that my pcm is going bad. They said look into replacing that. Im not even sure what that is, and i have had no engine/electrical problems ever with this truck. I even tried resetting my computer by leaving the battery off for a good two hours and nothing has worked. Any help?

PCM = Powertrain Control Module. The computer that runs the engine/trans. On the firewall, passenger side. Lots of wires going to it.

Might be able to find one at a junkyard, swap it out, and see if that improves anything. Either that, or if you know someone with a similar truck, see if your tuner will work on theirs.
