Default Track bar replacement

I just purchased a brand new MOOG track bar for my 1996 Ram. I was able to get the axle side of the old track bar off but I cannot for the life of me get the upper ball joint side off. Does anyone know a special trick or specific process to get it off? Any help with this matter would greatly be appreciated! Thank You

Soak the stud area with some good penetrating oil. Once I remove the joint's retaining nut, I used my long barrel air hammer with a ball joint fork attachment and it came right off.

Remove the split pin, loosen the nut 90% of the way (this will stop it from falling when it pops off) insert a pickle fork/ball-joint splitter and hit the splitter with a BFH. It will pop or drop down then remove the nut all the way and remove the track bar. A ratchet strap helps when installing the new bar to pull the chassis over.

^that. leaving the nut on prevents it from popping off in a violent manner and scaring the crap out of you.

i also used a pickle fork. if you don't have one you can rent/borrow one at your local parts store, or buy a cheap one for about $12.

Two hammers works as well. Hold one hammer against one side of the mount the stud goes thru, SMACK the other side with the other hammer. Usually, three good whacks, and it pops.
