Default Header ?

I found some used shorty's for like $40 but can i buy a gasket for them where they bolt to the head ? My truck came with edelbrocks but they leaked and i changed them with manifolds and gave them away but they didn't have gaskets and the manifolds don't use them either ?

Your headers had no gaskets? Thats why they leaked. Yes you can buy just the gaskets, Summit, Jegs all those kind of places sell them so do most auto parts stores.

+1 to this. Get gibson gaskets they're good quality and last. Don't buy cheap gaskets unless you like doing things twice.

I ordered mine from NAPA.

Standard fel pro gaskets.

0 problems…yet…

used headers…may wanna take them to a machine shop to verify that the flange is not warped. If it is, they will always leak if not surfaced.

Surface prep on the exhaust ports goes a long way too.

I use SCE #4169 reusable copper header gaskets along with Permatex orange RTV. Works nicely.

You get what you pay for but keep on cheaping out. I know what it is like to have little money and try to fix things. But at some point you'll realize all you've doing is spending money 2-3 tmes where if you'd just bought the better parts it would still be running and you wouldn't be spending more money.

I'm just glad I'm to that point in my life where I can spend the money on better parts and not cheap out.
