Regular stock truck; nothing fancy.
Not a 4x4, just regular 2wd.
Stock tires; not large...regular manufacture recommended size.

Planning to lift the front end so it is closer to level...not doing a high-rise job..just a little bit more level.

Questions:
1. As far as leveling, is there anything other a "spacer ring" that is needed?
2. Those who have done it, what lifter kit do you recommend? (again, nothing too extreme, just normal "level")
3. I assume a front-end alignment is required afterwards (true?)
4. Once completed (planning to buy the parts and take it to my trusted mechanic), what sort of handling differences should I expect?
5. Some folks say lifting the front is an invitation for trouble.. Could I get "death wobble"? (not sure what that is) Why?
6. As far as "death wobble" goes, is that possible on both 2wd and 4x4?...seems to be more common on 4x4's. (does my 2wd, rwd have a "track bar")

If all you want to do is level the front end a little, get some 1 1/2" or 2" coil spring spacers OR a set of 2wd Diesel or V10 coils.

Ride may be a little stiffer.

Yes, need an alignment afterwards.

You shouldn't notice any "Death Wobble" on your 2wd.

 

^^ This. Just get yourself a leveling kit. No death wobble worries.

Someone suggested I try SKYJACKER D25 coils. Again, I my 2001 Diesel (2500) is only RWD (not 4x4).
Will the SKYJACKER D25s work on my truck? I was about to buy them on AMAZON, but the "fit" checker said they're for 4x4.
Also, if I put the new coils on, am I going to need new "extended" shocks? ( I think "yes", but not sure).

This is fairly important information...

If you want to use coil springs for lift you'll have to get one designed to lift a diesel x amount of inches.

If those are 4wd springs they won't work on your 2wd. And you may not need extended shocks for a couple of inches on a 2wd truck.

Jigabop is a Cummins driver too, he may have some knowledge of springs that would give the front end some lift.

Thanks knuckle! As for pics, it's just a stock 2001 Ram 2500 diesel; not 'leveled' yet; nothing special to look at. Maybe after getting it leveled. For now, just gathering info.

Doesanyone how a step by step on how to install the coil spacers?

 

Jack up truck by the frame. (as far as you can get it up.)
Support axle with another jack.
Remove front tire.
Remove shock.
Disconnect sway bar.
Lower jack till you can remove the spring. (or, insert your spacer.)
Put it back together, go do the other side.

 

Put one jack under the crossmember, other under the coil bucket in the lower control arm. let down on the crossmember one and up on the ca one. Itll compress the coil far enough to place upper or lower ball joint back in spindle. <depending on which one you remove.>
