Default 1.7 rocker arms ?

Ive read a lot here were some have gone with 1.7 rocker arms on there 5.9 engines. Being new to this and owning a Ram with a 5.9, what is the purpose of this and what kind of performance gains do you see by doing this ?.

I plan on doing the intake and exhaust on my truck, if I added 1.7 rocker arms to it would that make a difference in power or performance ?.

Increasing the rocker arm ratio typically provides a power increase, as the intake and exhaust valves are being opened higher to allow more fuel to enter the combustion chamber and to allow exhaust gases to exit fully.

Makes the engine think the cam is bigger, with longer duration as well. (@ .050 lift) Good for about 10 horses/torque on the dyno. (yes, I researched this mod. )

I just want to be clear on this. I don`t need a tuner to run the 1.7 rocker arms ?. Just swap them in and im good to go ?.

You don't need a tuner, however, as you have a 2000, you've got the Deathflash on your PCM. Therefore a tuner would wake it up even more by deleting the Deathflash.

Yea, I figured this truck had the Deathflash, because it doesn`t seem to have the power it should have.

My daily driver 2008 Ram 1500 4x4 with a 4.7 engine has way more power than the 2000 Ram with the 5.9

What tuner is recommended for these trucks, and about what do they cost ?.
