80A- The engine is out of the vehicle and is on the stand. So all the bearings will be replaced.

WK-Sorry on not responding on what I want to do, been busy. Haha yes no emissions checks so that's all good. What I'm kinda looking for in a cam, not to crazy of a cam, is mileage (+85%) and if I can get a little more power along with the mileage I'll take it. I was thinking of a cam with a idle-4,500 rpm or so. My truck is always my DD, but when I do drive it I'd like better mileage..Ik Ik don't be looking for mileage in a truck but if I can gain anything I'll take it....I am still lifting my truck and 35's down the road so that's where I'd like some power too. The truck does go offroading and mudding if that makes a difference.

With the valve springs, I'd guess I'd go with ones that will work with the cam I get. With the heads if one is cracked I can go back to the JY and get a replacement head for free, but like I said the motor will just set with the old heads till I get money for new heads. I hope this answered some questions you had?

Have you looked through any of the camshaft manufacturers web sites to see what is out there? Or are you wanting all of us to just do the work for you?
You want to replace the pushrods to hardened ones when running a higher lift cam & heavy duty springs.

You're rolling the dice on used heads. I think if it was my money I'd replace the heads first and do the cam second but I can see doing the cam now too while it is on the stand. If you can get some 5.2 heads they have a smaller combustion chamber than the 5.9 so you'd gain a little compression that way.

As merc already told you even if you go with a stock rocker ratio it is still a good idea to go with roller rockers as you'll gain some HP.

Stop looking for all the answers to be handed to you. Do some searches and read what others have gone with.

I have gone through manufacturers websites and I've read through other threads. I'm just making sure I have all my questions answered, sorry for that.

No need to be sorry. You may have READ the web sites but I have yet to see you suggests even once a cam you think you might want to use. That is what I am talking about. Try doing some thinking on your own and you'll stand a better chance of getting help.

I know jack about cams but the only difference I see is duration, the lift is the same .480/.480

Same price too.

You can send a form online to Comp Cams giving them the necessary info about your engine and they'll email a recommendation. You can follow their suggestion, or not. Or you can call the various cam manufacturers and talk to their techs. Then it just becomes decision time on your part. And then you're gonna have to find a way to slip those RR's and cam past your shop teacher.

I like the Crower 34414 it has better lift & duration plus it shows what the lift would be with 1.7 duration rockers. You're asking for advice so here is some.

Have not seen those before thanks Wildman. The first one is the one that I would also suggest. The other two are interesting, I might just try the 34416 just because, have to see if I can get it up here.
