Skyjacker 501 kit install questions
This might help, it is what he is installing. You will be buying one more socket and it will be for the new spindle nut if one did not come in the kit.
Edit; And a set of c-clip pliers and a pick set.

Edit 2;This should be the socket you will need, take one of the rings from the kit that has four cuts in it with you to crappy tire they should have the right socket hanging there.

Edit: Check that... I didn't recall seeing spindle nuts in the kit, though the website says it comes with them. Just went and looked - not there. Hmm... ordered this kit sometime ago, but I'm going to call and ask about it.

They don't look like nuts they look like a round ring with four cuts in it. Double check your kit, they might be in a little bag with the other parts that go with them, two more rings with threads, two flat holed washer/wave washers. If they are not in your kit you can buy them at any auto parts store (cheap).

CANNOT lie or even try, THIS is definitely new territory for me. Looks relatively simple though. It's the changing of gears in the diffs I suspect will be the real challenge

Edit: Nope. I just went and looked again. I really don't think they are in the kit. There is no bagged hardware.

Tracking! I am thinking they are there. Just... looks like I don't have the same parts as they show on the webpage.

Small crisis (ie, lack of knowledge) averted.
Gears - I have not ordered anything, but I believe I had read that I would require 4.56 gears for 35" tires.
To be honest, if I can find a shop to do it at a half decent price, I'll get it done there once I know what I all want to get done.

S*** if I have forgotten sorry otherwise the time to install those was when the diff's could have been taken out from under the truck and worked on a bench it would have made things much ezer. You will want to install the front gears before you put this all back together if possible, otherwise it all has to come apart again.

Well... Hmmm... Not keen on tearing it all off again so soon. Can I roll with the old gears for a while?
For a while you will be fine, just get used to starting the truck and shutting off O/D next.
Edit: Have a talk with some of the aircraft techs if you can see what they have for a low temp bearing grease. Most of the parts in that hub kit get a good coat of grease, to thick a grease (in the cold) and the hubs will not lock in.

Hmm... So now need to reconsider this gearing issue ASAP. Was hoping to put on the sway end links, finish up the lift, complete the brakes and the hub conversion kit and be done for a wee bit. Exhaust has to be done too. Hmm... Projects, projects, projects... feeling like this truck will never roll.
It's not just the steering all the hubs have to come out again as well along with the axle shafts, brakes.
With your motors mods I would just run those gears until spring then change them out. But thats me.
I have a rear set of 3.92's if you want them, then all you need is a thick set of 3.92 for the front, it will help but not perfect.
