Are these the correct cam bolts? I ask as they are listed for 2500s. Not sure if there is much of a difference there. The part number is 82385 and when I put my vehicle make/model/year into their website it says they will not fit.

Likewise, searching on summit (price comparing) they have part number 82380 but I notice it is rated for years 97-98 (for a 1500).

Did something change in 99? Will the 2500 ones fit for a 99? Just want to be sure before I order.

InfO.

Edit: Ordered the end links. Looking forward to that as one of the last steps for the lift kit!

Default EMS Offroad Manual Hub Conversion

So, while waiting on parts to so I can finish the lift kit I decided to start on the manual hub conversion.

I think this is going to be a bit of a chore - mostly due to tear down.

Brake and calipers off no problems. The 3 bolts holding the hub assembly came off not too bad either. Separating the hub assembly... that is a different beast all together.

I've read a few comments that say to leave the three bolts partially threaded and hammer on them to separate the parts - wasn't budging and was just causing damage to the heads of the bolts.

I've tossed some penetrating oil on there, will likely let it sit for the night and keep applying it throughout the time being. I should have been doing this the entire time I was working on the lift.

Also, turning the steering back and forth while working the bolts... seems steering fluid decided to pour up and out.

I'll catalog as it goes.

I'd call them(toll free). They are in Canada thats why I gave you that link. Figured it would be less expensive for you.

LOL, I can rename it for you. But then again, anyone doing a search would never find it. So I'm glad you didn't name it that .

Naaaw! It's all good, and you're right!

The end links have shipped, should have them by Wednesday and will install them / sway bar with the new mounting brackets (SJ as well as Energy Suspension).

HOPEFULLY I'll get the hub assembly off by then. I might try and pick up some other bolts with a matching thread to the 3 I pulled off and hammer on those with the air gun. Not 100% confident in it. That being said, if I damage the hub bearing I'm not too concerned as the EMS kit comes with all the parts I need. This being said, don't think I've changed a u-joint before so need to learn that. Same with packing grease in a bearing. And since I ordered them... also need to learn about changing upper and lower ball joints. Bring it on!

i noticed in that picture you still have the nut on, like in the middle of the hub theres a large nut, youll need to take that off with a breaker bar, that holds the wheel bearing to your axle shafts and is probably why it isnt coming off. also, how are your steering stabalizers hooked up? because it looked like you just hooked it from the bar to the bar, not bar to axle.. just an observation!

what i did was take off tht large nut, take out those 3 bolts, and whack on the hub with a hammer from all directions. before putting the new one on do your balljoints and ujoints and whatever else your going to do in there.
