Glad I'm in the military... GF is checking with the tool crib at work as we speak ;o)
I got the trac bar off the D60 without any special tools. I don't remember how, but I know I didnt use anything special becuase I dont own any special tools lol

LOL, well, I don't profess to be amazing at logic, but yours certainly sounds solid ;o)

I'll likely give it a go in a bit if I don't hear back from the GF (also a perk, GF is military so have no issues going into the units tool crib!). I have all new parts to do the HD conversion, so not too worried about damage.

InfO.

Edit: Shoot. Tool crib was closed. Oh well, I'll shut it down for the day. Merc, I hit everything up with some oil P I'll let it soak until I get the tools I need. I'm ripping down to Houlton, ME tomorrow (or Sat morning) to pick up some extra parts I ordered - so it'll likely sit until then! So far, stoked though.

While you are waiting on tools try to get the two lower cam bolts out. Try one at a time, remove the bolt all the way not just the nut. If you're lucky they won't be seized to the bushing in the control arm.

A pickle fork or ball joint seperator I think is like $16 at crappy tire, this will work on the track bar and the drag link to the pitman arm. As for the pitman arm puller don't cheap out on this tool wait for the tool crib to open up cause a good one is over $100.

Pick up some stuff at Houlton after work!

Going to get started tomorrow.

Got a lot of tools from work too... Including this heavy duty ball joint kit (two huge *** boxes) that is designed to pretty much do every vehicle known to man it seems.

Two hammers work better.

..... nevermind my last words. You are correct, two hammers.

Now to find something to undo the bolt holding the pitman arm to the steering box.

I use two single-jack, three pound hammers. Hold one against one side of the joint you want to pop. (the part of the linkage that has the hole in it for the stud.) SMACK the other side HARD a couple times. They pop right out.

I'm going to look it up, but figured I'd ask - know what size the nut is holding the pitman arm to the steering box? I do believe I'm going shopping.

Edit: According to google... 1 5/16"
