Question Wiring questions...

A couple weeks ago I pulled the cab and engine from my 97 ram 1500 4X4 with the 360 (A/T) and put them in/ on a 98 ram 2500 4X4 that had a 360 also with a 5 speed. I kept the 5 speed with the swap (turned out cleaner than expected).
The reason for the swap was an engine fire (leaking passenger side fuel rail) on the 98 that melted everything in the engine compartment and some of the wiring under the dash.

The two wiring question I have are;

(1) Is there a difference in the fuel gauge wiring between these models? Rear-end wiring was plug and almost play between models, fuel pump and taillights work.

Between 97 and 98 dodge switched the speedo from the transfer case to the rear-end (this truck does not have front abs sensors).
(2) Is there a way to splice the wires from the rear-end to the 97 speedo loom?

This may lead to more questions as i get more input. Thanks for reading

find a tailhousing for an older 3/4 ton truck, grab that, and the VSS, put that on your truck, and you should be all set.

Thanks for the idea. I'll have to look and see if a 231 output will interchange with this 241. I have a few of those left over from the 1500.
