Take a look at your crank sensor. They are frequently victims of an engine or trans swap.

Think I may have found the problem. It appears I put the wrong 02 Sensor in. The one I bought a few days ago was for the front of Cat. I put it in the back of Cat. Just sent the wife for a new rear of Cat Sensor. I hope this corrects the problem. I will also check the Crank position Sensor.

Thanks-

The sensor itself is the same, if it plugged into the harness (the correct one, as in if you installed it to the rear, "post cat" and plugged it into the rear harness) all is good. The only difference is wire length and plug styles.

Yes. I see what you are saying. The connectors look similar, but they are slightly different in that you can't plug in to the wrong one. I bought a Bosch #15730 02 Sensor for the Post Cat., and a Bosch #13280 for the Pre Cat. The problem is that they both will plug in to the Post Cat connector.

In my previous posts I mentioned that I would get an occasional ( once a month) PO138 Code so I replaced the rear sensor with the Bosch 15730. The vehicle ran but started to studder, pop, backfire, etc., only under a load. If I shut the engine off and then restarted it, it would run great. Now the vehicle seems to run well. but throws a PO132 code. I'm still trying to figure out how to remove that front sensor. They are a real Bugger!

No your better off dropping exhaust
Use a 14mm socket with a couple extensions

It looks to me that the most unpleasant task will be removing the exhaust as the driver side pipe loops right under the tranny.

I have done some auto. tranny's in the past and I have all the necessary tools as well as an ample supply of cold Budweiser.

Make 1oo% sure your torque converter is locked into oil pump
Firmly push torque converter straight in and turn clockwise .
You're looking for 3 distinctive clunks as it goes in
Very important

The RE trans showed up in 96, and was used until around 2002 or 3 or so in trucks. Things changed in 2000 with the internal electronics, and at some point, it went from a 3 wire neutral safety switch, to a five wire 'range sensor'.... Don't recall when that latter one happened.
