+1.. And just cut the heads off the Y to exhaust manifold bolts/nuts. They are just bolts and nuts, not studs.

Thanks for that tip. I'll give it a closer look. It appeared to be studs or threaded but I could be wrong. If they are straight nut and bolt that will be great!

Zman is correct, They are just 3 inch bolts with nuts. Be sure to remove the o2 sensors before dropping the exhaust.

Default Speaking of 02 sensors?

Glad you reminded me of the 02 Sensor. I have a question if you don't mind.

Once in a while I get a PO138 code; "02 Sensor Circuit High Volts, Bank 1, Sensor 2" When I clear the code it is good for a month or more. I was just under the vehicle and I have an 02 Sensor before and after the Cat.

Looking at the replacement parts online there are choices i.e., Left side, Right side, Before Cat., After Cat. I'm a bit confused with the "left" and "right" side 02 Sensors. Would these be for dual exhausts, or am I missing something?

Thanks-

You want right side, after cat.

I think cali emissions had a total of four, but, I can't swear to that.....

Here is an easy way to remember the o2 sensors. Bank 1 is the odd bank of the firing order, so sensor 1 is upstream and 2 is downstream. Bank 2 is the even bank of the firing order, sensor 1 upstream and 2 is downstream. The rule of thrumb is the cylinder head that sits more forward on the block is the odd bank. Odd bank is 1,3,5 and 7. even bank is 2,4,6 and 8. I know most of the member know this, but for those who don't. Hope this answers your question.

Thank you guys for all of your help. I really appreciate it. I started the tear down today for removal of the tranny tomorrow. The exhaust loops under the pan and it is in "front" of the pan. I am hoping I can remove the tranny without having to take off the exhaust. It appears however that there is a bracket on the side of the tranny which supports the shift mechanism, and one bolt is very close to the pipe. If this bolt is longer than 3/4" I will indeed need to remove the exhaust. Either way, it is going well.

Thanks again,

Joe-

Do yourself a favor and get the pipe out of the way. Also remove the crank sensor before uninstalling tranny and put it back in after the tranny is reinstalled.

Whoa! Huge problem. I replaced the tranny (worst job ever!) Took it for a test drive and it ran great for about five minutes and then the engine started misfiring and popping. I barely made it home. I found that if I shut the engine off and then restarted it, it ran good. At the first start up it threw a PO132 code (O2 Sensor) I replaced the other O2 sensor (see above posts)

Could this be a PCM issue or a result of the vehicle being up on jack stands for three days?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
