Default Need transmission help?

I trying to determine which trucks can I pull a transmission from to fit my truck?
My truck 1995 1500 4x4 360 gas engine auto transmission. I know it's a 46 rh. I believe I need an auto transmission from a 1994-95 1500 because of the 46rh and 46 re(96-01)

Will a 94 auto transmission mounted behind a 318 mount behind a 95 360? Researching it myself but thought on here someone would have first hand experience. Thanks to anyone that can help out

1994 thru very early 1996 5.2+5.9 Rams with 4x4. I have a early production dated 1996 Ram 2500 4x4 and it came with a 46RH. The 46RH was phased out early 1996.

yes. 94 and 95 attached to 318 or 360 are all the same - 46RH.

be careful NOT to get a 42RH (V6) or 47RH (V10, diesel), or a 2 wheel drive model.

Keep in mind, on the pre 96 versions, balancing duties on the 360 were taken care of by the torque converter, not the flex plate. 318 is internally balanced.. So, if you get a trans from a 318, you will need a different torque converter.

You might want to look at 93-95 jeep grand cherokees with the 318 also.

I have a question for my truck. sorry I dont know how to post a new thread. I just did a transmission swap. its been running well. but now it wont start off in 1st unless manually shifted. i looked into it and im guessing its a TV cable adjustment. it also started to shake when in reverse like it doesnt want to move but is trying. can i just drop the pan and put a rear servo kit in the thing? DIY info on that would be helpful as well. thanks.

Could I use my torque converter, mounted to the 318 transmission? Mine die because of water, hopefully I will be to flush it and use it. Thoughts?

If it got contaminated with water, I wouldn't re-use it......

Thanks for the info, still looking for a transmission for my truck. 95 360 gas 46rh transmission. Looking at getting a parts truck because at the scrap yard one is around $800.00.

Any ideas on other transmissions that would mounted to the 360? With the balancing on the torque converter, that might be a issue. Not sure. I'm spending $800 for used one, it kinda makes me think if I invest a little more I might be able to get a better set up, maybe re-built , something (more parts)
It's mostly a trail truck but still licensed for the road. Running 60's on 37's.
First time I had to play with the transmission except when I swamped a couple years ago. That time I probably flush at least a 100Liters of fluid through it. Wasn't sure how long it was going to last so instead of dropping it and running a proper vent-- it last this long but now its dead.

800 for a USED trans? Or is that for the whole parts truck?
