Hi everyone I'm new here so if I'm doing this wrong I apologize I have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 4x4 don't know too much about the truck bought it on the way home with it transmission went out had it rebuilt so can't speak much on how it acted before transmission went but to the point in drive on takeoff I have no power hold it on the floor and it picks up very slowly once it builds up runs good plenty of power for passing gear and such just no takeoff power any help or thoughts on this would be appreciated thanks
Welcome to DF! I will move this to the 2nd gen Ram section. Read the plenum sticky. Possibly your cat is clogged as a result of a faulty plenum gasket.
no CEL and could clogged cat cause loss of power only on takeoff because otherwise it seems to have plenty of power...oh and one more thing it doesn't do it all the time but its happened twice since trans rebuild if I driving along and slow down a bit then punch it the trans slips completely out of gear the engine redlines until I let off then it will catch back and go along just fine
better business... and attorny general. hows the tranny fluid is it full and clean. also check and see if the fuel pressure is good. other then that. cat (unhook down pipe and runner her to 45 or so see what happens.
