I cannot begin to comprehend what you are talking about. Please edit the grammar and spelling in your post so it is understandable. Only thing I can figure out is your Pug went into your computer box and somehow there are 50 or 29 wirers involved.

I think he wired a new/ used harness to his PCM, but I'm not betting any money on that.

deffently can be done. and you did it corrently. should havd used heat srink in place of tape but its all good. what most companies dont want you ro do is use butt connecters the change the ohms. and that can cause all kinds of miss haps and head aches.

btw some people cant spell and cant really read but there hell of mechanics because they use the memory and creativity to work better and quicker and more effentent.

My brain is full so I don't even try to shove any more in. That's what servers, databases, "text" files and PDFs are for

I think he did say he used heat shrink AND tape....I dunno not sure...

But kudos to you catballou5477 anyway. One wire at a time... Don't let cars intimidate you. They're more afraid of you than you are of them!

I'm guessing "new" American?

Spelling is really not that hard if you take just a few seconds to read what you just typed before hitting that submit reply button. Look at all the red squiggly lines under all the words misspelled.

Here is a reference to his other thread:

As far as spelling, no worries. Not everyone has computer experience and (like me) not everyone knows how to adjust settings on their computer. I have a girlfriend who keeps my computers running.

I talked with him on the phone when he started having these issues. My limited abilities with this model truck but, vast knowledge of trouble shooting issues and mechanical problems. He gave some of the issues he had, then knew what his problem (most obvious issue known) was.

I told him to start with the obvious. He said his most obvious issue and a source of previous problems (area of previous rework) was the computer connections and possible computer (PCM). What he is stating here, he replaced his computer, cut the wires off of the donor plugs and the main PCM attach points. He cut his existing plugs off, removed his computer and installed the donor parts. Spliced the wires and soldered them back together. Then he put heat shrink over the wires and put some Scotch 33 (good grade of electrical tape/aircraft) to protect even further.

Here is a post on my my account from him:

catballou5477 Hi my Friend how are you ? I posted a new thread on my ck engine light and my computer so it will help someone elese on what I did to fix my problems ! How I was told not tod the spliceing into the wireing harness your opening a can of worms ? W ell I did and solve all my problems starting from the ck engine light , missfirering on #5 cly not chargeing voltage reg bad that is inside the computer ! So I got a use computer off ebay with a wireing Plug that went to it ( 50 ) wirer make sure you get the 50 or the 29 wirer depending on what you have now ! I slice all 50 wirer with the new use coputer plug and solder easc wirer and shrink tubing and socth 33 electricaL TAPE ! fIX ALL MY PROBLEMS CK ENGINE LIGHT GONE MISS FIRERING GONE ALTERNATOR IS CHARGEING MY BATTERY FIX ! PASS CA SMOG 8 MO GONE BYE NO PROBLEM ! Thanks PrestonEidsmoe for all the help you sent my way ! I haven't posted for a while its been done for a while now figure I should post !

On a personal note, he may not be the most literate typist but, he is not a fool by any means. He is a Millwrite (basically a paper mill machinist). There is a high level of skill required for this job and a lot of mechanical/electrical ability required. Do not discount the information, even if it is hard to follow or understand. His heart was in it and he was trying to give back.

Thank you for posting the update. I was wondering how it worked for you. Call me any time if you need any help in the future. Take care my friend.

The check engine light is also known as malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). It shows when having a glitch in the electronic control module of vehicles. Commonly, the check engine light is positioned within the instrument console. In some older vehicles, the check engine light was referred to as "engine" or "trouble", which demonstrated small problems including overheating or flat oil pressure inside the motor. The check engine light is usually of golden or reddish color, and there are two types of it:

I've noticed a lot of guys using shrink wrap on their wiring, doesn't anyone use liquid tape? It's the only thing I used on my comm. boat when I had it and it completely eliminated any moisture problems. That stuff is the absolute best in my opinion but I can't recall it ever being mentioned. Haven't had to splice any wires on my truck yet, but if I have to, it'll be liquid tape all the way.

I doubt the OP will back, but +1 on the liquid tape. After soldering I also use dielectric grease too. Shrink wrap then the liquid tape.
