My 98 Ram. Missfires, or surges, or what ever you wanna call it. Sometimes when I start it, it will start and die. will not idle unless I have my foot on the gas. Other times, it just chugs going down the road. I have put new plugs in. Prior to this I soaked the whole engine down trying to see if it was a missfire due to moisture on a wire. Nothing. Checked for intake leaks, nothing. No codes related to the problem have come up.
Try cleaning the TB and IAC. Disconnect negative battery cable before doing so. Also , with the TB removed, you will be able to use a lite and small mirror to inspect the inside of the intake the correct way. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html
I had the video private. Sorry. I also checked codes and one was for a crank sensor. It had completly shut off today driving down the road and would not start back up. Im getting my crank sensor warrentied tomorrow and I'll clean the IAC. Thanks guys.
UPDATE!! Got it fixed. Got my crank sensor warrentyed through Ideal, and Cleaned the throttle body all up, along with the IAC. Runs like new. Thanks guys.
Congrats. Did you remove the TB to clean it? And did you look in the intake with a light and small mirror to check the plenum gasket while the TB was off?
