Did several searches and did not find a DIY to changing a fuel injector.

Got a P0207 code "Faulty #7 fuel injector"

Is the truck misfiring? If not just erase the code and see if it comes back.

If the truck runs rough, check the wiring and harness/connector for the injector. If that's allset, then replace the injector. Get a Haynes manual if you don't know how to replace it. You basically just disable the fuel, pull off the injector connector, and pull the injectors off. Replace the orings a well or you'll risk leaking injectors.

 

yea pull the fuse for the fuel pump, pull all the connectors for the injectors on that side, and pull the fuel rail up and take all the injectors out of their hole on that side, then just take off number 7, replace, and put it all back, change the rings, and use a little vasoline on them when puttin the injectors back into the manifold, or else u run the risk of ripping one...

 

Can't believe no one in town had an ejector, have to wait til tomorrow. I did get the old one out.

 

cool deal just remember to lube the new o rings or else they may rip when you push them down into the seat.

 

my grandfather had to tell a newby tech at the dealership about Vaseline and o rings. But then again he was an AP mech during the Big one.

***Update***

Installed new injector($70.00) no problems with install. Reset computer ran fine for 5 min. started running ruff, code came back. The wire harness feel fine, check connections, felt along wires.

I'm wondering if my replacement PCM is bad again? The first replacement was crap and now it's been 2 1/2 months since the second one. I guess I could get one from junk yard and see if it eliminates problem then I would know that it is a PCM malfunction.

 

you could, but make sure its same year and model as far as 2wd or 4wd.

 

Problem Fixed. Wire above air intake was chaffed through! Yeah.
