Default p0601 ecm help plz!!

This is my first thread ever so bear with me guys. :-)
My truck is having drivability issues has engine light and when ran over 3k revs it backfires and the engine light goes off and the fuel sending unit shuts off (gas gauge drops to E) then when shut off by key, it will start and run if gas pettle is fluttered but it will not idle. Until the battery is pulled then it goes back to the beginning

Here's the info

2001 ram 1500 5.9 gas 4x4
Engine code P0601
ECM info
P/N p56040273AF
Vin:
Making poor mpg also
Well worse than normal ;-) lol
Any help would be awesome

I have read that the P/N is related to a "death flash"??? I'm not sure what that is either.
Thanks guys

The P0601 code is not good. You may as well just throw the PCM away. It has internal problems. The death flash is what some of members called when the dealer perform a flash update to retard the timing because of the pinging problems. It also took away some horsepower at the same time. Not much....... Called the dealer and get a price on a reman controller, because you will need to update the reman controller too. Hopefully that will fix the backfire problem, but you may want to replace the plug, wires, cap and rotor. And clean the throttle body and AIS motor too.

Thanks for the help I will look into all of that! Is there a specific PCM that needs to go back in? Which ones are compatible? Is there a good, better, best?
Thanks

Need a PCM out of a 00-01 truck, with same engine/trans as you have.

Software update is indeed the death flash. That was chryslers answer to spark knock.... detuned the engine to prevent it. (and robbed it of power.)
