high idle after ICA replacment
Hello, I have a 2000 Dodge ram with a 5.2. It was idling low a few weeks ago, around 600 rpm and it sounded like it was going to die. Then last week it started idling around 1700 rpm. I finally got around to get looking at the problem, so i pulled the ICA and cleaned it. I put it back in and then the truck wouldnt even idle. So then i fiqured i wrecked it so i got a new one. I replaced it and now it idles at almost 2000 rpm. What is the problem and how do i fix it? Thanks
What brand? And did you disconnect negative battery cable when cleaning or replacing it(any sensor for that matter). ? Did you remove TB and clean it too? https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html And btw, 600rpm is about right. 600 -650 at the most.
All of them
you could also try resetting your pcm by disconnecting the battery, letting the system drain, cut the headlights on or something, and then reconnecting battery. if that fixes it then the pcm just to relearn the new sensor
I reset the pcm and start the truck. It idle at about 1000 rpm and i went for a ride. About a 2 miles down the road it was running fine then the engine quit. It fired back up but would barley idle at 450 rpm. I limped it home, put it in park and revved it up. It idle right back down and sat there maybe 15 seconds before it died. I don't no what to do now?

verify the battery is full charged to 12v. if not, charge it up.
reset the pcm again and give it another try.
reset pcm = disconnect neg battery cable and turn on headlights for 30 sec. then reconnect cable.
