Default Please help. very bad leak on 98 Durango

I have 98 Durango, me and my dad changed the water pump on it hoping it would fix it and now when it runs it seems fine but once we shut it off it sprays a huge amount of coolant out of the front of the motor. it seems like it maybe a intake gasket but I have no idea. any help would be very appreciated.

Maybe the bypass house going from the front of the intake to the top of the water pump?

Stupid question, but have you tried cleaning it off best you can, then firing it up?

it seems like it comes out closer to the passenger side and above and behind the water pump

You can also use a cooling system pressure tester to pressurize the cooling system at the radiator inlet without running the motor. This should easily show you where its leaking. You can typically rent the tester for free (once you return it, they refund your deposit) at a local parts store, such as Advance Auto and AutoZone. Here is what one looks like:

Some suspect areas are the timing cover or water pump gasket(s), the water pump bypass hose, loose radiator or heater hoses (forgot a clamp or its loose), etc.

pressure tester sounds like a good idea. my dad was guessing it was the time cover gasket or something with the intake manifold
