Default Sudden hard start

Ok, never had a problem before. Now Sunday It started fine as always. On Monday it didnt want to start. I have remote start and tried it 3-4 times with no luck. Finally after using the key it finally started. Started fine every time fir the rest of the day.

Come Tuesday it was the same no start. After trying with the key it still didnt work. I turned the key on to let the fuel pump prime, turned it off, back on and so on 5-6 times. Went to start and it fired right up.

Needless to say I suspected the fuel pump so I replaced that yesterday.

This morning it was the same crap, although it did start on the 3rd try with the remote start.

Every time it finally started it ran fine, like it always has. The only code is for the rear o2 which has been on for about 1 1/2-2 years now.

What else could be going on with this thing?

Heres a vid of it:

Just pulled codes and got:

0422-Main Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

0455-Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow or large leak)

0138-O2 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank1, Sensor2)

All related to rear o2 or emmisions. None that I would think have anything to do with cold start problems.

Same gas has been in it for approx two weeks.

I seen that the iac could be the cause but then the symptoms dont match.

Im at a loss on what it could be.

Was finally able to get this mornings vid to upload. This was using the remote start and it barely catching on the 3rd try. And to note, it was after the first vid that I did the "key dance" and it fired.

Also edited prior post for definitions of codes.

I know you replaced the fuel pump, but it still sounds like your fuel pump is not holding the prime. can you do a fuel pressure test. My truck was doing the same thing not starting unless i did the key dance and it was the fuel pump.

Id also check fuel pressure in morning after sitting overnite. Also start it, shut it off and see how long the pump holds pressure. What brand pump? There are other issues you have with all those codes. Fix them! Why bother troubleshooting when there are known issues. Two years running with a bad o2 ? I'd say the cat is toast also.

I just put the cat on in early May.

Today has a whole new set of problems, rough idle but not constant, stumbling on acceleration, again not constant.

I just got done doing a compression check and got with a dry test:

2 4 6 8
140 140 135 160

1 3 5 7
165 160 170 140

I'm unable to check the fuel pressure right now but that is my next step as soon as I can get a tester.

BUT, I did do a "backyard" test and it doesn't look good. I depressed the shrader with the tip of my knife while the truck was idling. The gas only shot out about 8-10 inches, and it was only a couple drops. I would think that with a proper 49 psi it would shoot farther than that and with more volume. Correct?

This was done with the new pump, which by the way is a Spectre. It was either that or an Airtex.

And I know I need to fix the other problems, but even with them it has been the same ol' dog she's been since I bought it.

Put a gauge on it, and see what pressure looks like.

The 'cheap' pumps are notorious for lasting just about a year.... and then failing.
