Default Out of nowhere missing

Have 01 5.2L. Has over 200K miles but has always ran great. Started it up Monday and noticed a little wobble of a miss but it went away until I had driven about 3 miles and I pulled up to a red light and it died. It was hard to start back up and when it did it was running very rough. Noticed CEL on. No smoke out back or anything like that. All temp and oil pressure normal. Pulled into a parking lot and visually did some checks found nothing. Limped it home and looked up codes. One is P0207 and other is P0302. One is an ignition misfire and one is for air/fuel mix problem. Looked at all wiring etc. Nothing has come loose or been worked on recently. I'm thinking since it involves cylinder 7 and 2, which are next to each other in the firing order, it would either be distributor or ECM related. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Start with unplugging the #2 injector and see if the motor slows down or stays the same.

P0207 Injector #7 Ctrl Circ

P0302 is misfire on cylinder 2......

Interesting collection there.... Check the connectors at the fuel injectors on 2 and 7. See if you find anything interesting.

By his description, I still bet the fuel pump is going out. My sister-in-law's PT Cruiser did the same thing when the fuel pump in it dumped. Random misfires, hard starting, running and stopping after just a few minutes.

These fuel pumps give no warning from my experience. My other 97 tanked at 225k. just wouldn't start.

Fuel pumps can run intermittently or at not at the required pressure which can cause the symptoms that have been noted. Sometimes, smacking the fuel tank with a 2x4 will jar the fuel pump into operating long enough to get the vehicle either home or to a repair facility.

Been there, done that. OP, have you gotten a fuel pressure gauge on the rail?

On the injector, I would swap number 2 to number 1 and see if the code goes to number 1. If the engine sets a P201 code, then replace the injector. Perform a compression test on the engine and a leak down test. Maybe you just need a tune up.
