check engine light dilemma

Remove the cam sensor and inspect it for visible damage. Unplug it and check the connectors for dirt and debris and clean as necessary. A dab of di-electric grease won't hurt.

Check the plug wire routing per the TSB and correct as necessary.

if it has no issues put a piece of black tape over the CEL light and drive on...

black tape is easier to install and easier to remove.

ok. i'm so confused with this thing. i haven't gotten a change to check the sensor. but i thought the light would flash during hard acceleration. but on my way to work, it started flashing just under light acceleration (on one occasion). but still no problems, i wouldn't have even known except i caught the light out of the corner of my eye.

update date on this.....going to need some other suggestions. i had someone check it out. & the only thing he could think is that the coil is breaking down & causing the light to flash on occasions. well, i changed the coil & i still have the same problem. just not really sure where else to go with it. no drive ability problems, runs well. i feel like i have lost a little gas mileage (i thought i used to be in the higher teens, but now i'm in the lower teens pertaining to MPG). anyone have any other suggestions?

just an update. a buddy of mine sent me a link to a TSB. the number was TSB 18-48-98. it had to do with re-routing the plug wires. looks like that did it.
