There should be a provision for a switch on the trans, it may even come with the trans..... Just need to figure out which wires you need from the auto trans connector. There should be a 12 volt power wire there, then just need to figure out which wire indicates to the PCM it's in reverse.

Does the PCM trigger reverse lights? I'd think it's more of a standalone plunger switch kinda like the 4wd light switch in the CAD?

OP, you should be able to find wiring diagrams but if not look at the wire colors at the R light bulbs themselves. I'd bet there's the same color at the trans harness.

You would think so, but, on the automatics, you get a 'range sensor', not the neutral safety switch, and even the starting circuit goes thru the PCM...... I would have to check out wiring diagrams to see exactly how it is supposed to work.
