magnum to LA

what would it all take to put a 360LA in my 99 ram with a 5.2.

Why not use a 360 magnum instead? The 360LA has no fuel injection and no hydraulic roller cam.

You can make the same power building whats there and not have the carburetor issues and fuel mileage problems that you'd have with the la.

what would it take to get close to 400hp cause the LA motor I have is close to 400

And it's gonna take alot more work to get the la to operate using the stock alternator which is regulated by the ecm.

Not to mention all the gauges are also driven by the PCM. Even the friggin oil pressure gauge. And then there is the trans.... which is controlled by the PCM..... If you drop the LA motor in there with a carb, you are going to have to come up with a trans controller as well.

Even though you already have the motor, it would still end up less expensive to build a magnum motor to toss in there, then you can use the existing PCM, and the trans.
