Default 01 dodge ram 5.9
Why would my air conditioner compressor be running while the heat is on? Is this normal?

If it runs constantly, there's a problem. If it's just cycling on and off, it's normal.

Cycles on and off glad to here its normal. Thank you. Heat does not seem to be working to its potential.

18 degrees tomorrow morning. Need to get on this before the snow comes.

On any setting that blows air at the windshield, the a/c compressor will run.

Do a google search on 'heatertreater'. I suspect that is your poor heat issue.
