Cool 1996 dodge ram 1500 5.2 ltr. 318 mag.

1.) my speedometer does not work, and there are no lights on, such as check engine.....?????
2.) i can not find the oil cap, where you add oil to the engine... where is it located?????

Oil fill cap is on drivers side valve cover, at the front.

If your speedo isn't working, check the wiring to the VSS that is on the tailshaft of the trans, or t-case. Depends on whether you are two, or four wheel drive. (you obviously won't have the sensor on the t-case, if you don't HAVE a t-case. )

Or the speed sensor on top of the differential.

On the 97 and older trucks, the speedo is driven from the VSS in the trans. 98 and up that one went away.
