Default 94 4x4 transfer case

Okay, so I had a seal go bad at the rear of the transfer case. Its the only seal right on the back of the main part of the transfer case. I have my rear driveshaft out, and all the bolts out, but I cant get the case or whatever it is off. I don't want to pry it for fear that I might break something. i'm sorry in advance if this doesn't make sense, but I'm trying to figure it out. Please help!

Tailshaft doesn't really have to come off to get the seal... but, it is kinda easier that way. It's probably just holding on by the sealant used. Just be gentle with it.

Welcome to DF!

Moving this to the tech section as well.

Thanks! I got that all figured out and back together, so on to the next problem lol. Now that its back together, when I drive it, there is a real bad grinding noise that has something to do with the drive shaft. If I take the drive shaft out, and drive it in 4 wheel drive, there is no grinding noise. Would you have any idea what that would be from?
