Default DIY 46RE Rebuild Performance or Standard

Looking to rebuild 46re tranny. Not sure about performance or standard rebuild kit. I do a bit of towing and hauling but nothing major. I will be putting in shift kit and the sonnax sure cure kit during the rebuild.

Any great wisdom on performance verses standard? I am not concerned about the cost just performance.

thanks....

For pure performance? Buy a mega viper and be happy for the next 20 years

Is this a rebuild kit or complete tranny?

Read the MonteC's Trans. thread stickied at the top of the page. Lots of good info. Page 6 has a parts list for a rebuild for an application like yours.

You can buy a megaviper already assembled, or, you can buy the kit that has all the correct parts to toss into your trans. Either way, you get a bulletproof trans.

Stock rebuild is a waste of time and money. Don't scrimp on the torque converter either. Get a good one. Be happy for a decade or so.

Precision Converters is what we've had great luck with all around.

Sure Cure kit is an absolute must, cant believe the difference it makes.
