Default speed senosr

i got a 95 1500 with the 5.9 my truck is no longer reading speed and dont know why yesterday i changed the output speed sensor with a new one and nothing.. i need help also it isnt shifting to overdrive i believe this would be a part of it too

Yeah, fix one problem, and you will solve them both.

Should be a sensor on the output shaft housing of the trans (2wd) or t-case (4wd) It's just a gear driven speed sensor. It has to be aligned properly for the gears to mesh. There are alignment marks on the sensor body, and also on the case. Which ones you use depends on what color gear you have. There is a chart in the service manual that will tell you what you need to know. (available for download in the Service Manual thread, in the faq section here.)

Check that first, then check the condition of the gears.
