Default 1995 dodge ram 1500 5.9 lighting problem

I have a 1995 dodge ram 1500 and I just bought new headlights for my truck. I bought Sylvania HB1/9004 SZ DOT 12V from advanced auto parts. It says the brights are on all the time and when I flick the brights on, the coil for the high beams are very dim. Are they too powerful? Did they give me the wrong lights? Please help!

Sounds like the wrong bulbs.... either that, or someone messed with the headlight wiring, and got some wires mixed up. Did your headlights work properly previous to the change?

That's ok, it's the last day of the year. Not too many more chances to be wrong.
