Doesnt hold fuel pressure
My truck has been cranking for roughly 10 seconds before starting since i got it, so i hooked up a fuel pressure gauge today. The gauge read 0 after i hooked it up, still 0 after cycling the key (i can hear the pump turn on). Then when i start the truck it sits at 35psi( which i understand is a little low). And then after shutting the truck off, it immediately goes back down to 0. Is the an issue with the regulator, or the pump itself? Or maybe something else? The truck is a 1995 1500 4x4 5.2l.

Standard pressure is 39 PSI, so you aren't that low..... See how many times you have to cycle the key to get it to build pressure.
Sounds like the check valve has gone bad. You CAN replace just that part, (it also has the filter in it) but, at around 100 bucks, I would be far more tempted to spend some more, and just replace the entire thing.

It wont build up to proper pressure by cycling the key. In the time the pump runs it gets up to about 10 psi, then drops down immediately after the pump shuts off. When cranking the pressure builds up to 10-15psi, then the engine sputters to life and then smooths out when the pressure builds.
