power window motor help

Default power window motor help

Hi everybody i am working on a 2000 dodge truck 4x4 360 engine
and i am trying to replace the power window motor on the drivers side
i was wondering the procedure to do any help would be greatly appreciated
thank you very much

Really not that bad of a job. Make sure you have the correct tool for the door panel push-clips though. They like to tear out chunks of the door panel, when you pull it, and then it won't stay in place any longer. You can get the tool for 10 or 15 bucks at most any parts store. (and that is still cheaper than a new door panel.)

But, pull the door panel. Two screws in the little door-pull pocket, one screw up by the mirror switch, might need to take off interior door handle as well. (I never have though..) Disconnect wiring harness from window/lock/mirror switches, and set door panel aside.

Peel the plastic vapor barrier feller far enough out of the way, that you can get to every thing..... I think there are three or four bolts that hold the window mechanism in... take 'em out, and then do some interesting exercises in geometry to get it out of door. If all you got was a motor, swap it out, if you got the whole thing, then just reinstall the new one. About an hour and a half job, going slow.
