anyone use airtex or carter? seem like a popular brands. prolly gonna use summit, and the both r a little more then the Delphi, thinking better? OR, I can get a no name brand from ebay for less then half of what the auto parts stores want. I know, I know. just want to know what everyone has been through with there brands. good, bad, and the ugly...

Delphi is cheaper than airtex? Really??

Denso I do believe is the stock manufacturer, delphi is good, airtex, and carter? Look forward to changing them every year if you pick one of those two brands. Don't even bother with the cheapo crap from ebay.

Haven't had to change the pump in the Dodge yet, but did swap one out in my old Ford(Dual tanks) so I went with a cheap one online, was only about $80 to my door. I had the truck for a few months after that and a lot of miles and it was still running strong. The brand was "Replacement," but since I only have one tank and if the pump kicks it, I'll be going with the best I can find. Airtex has somewhat of a bad rap for their pumps, haven't read too much on Delphi, but always see an ad for them. I'd suggest Denso or Spectra

I got the delphi unit from rock auto for around 150. Been in for a few months still going strong. Stay away from airtex!

I pulled my bed instead of dropping my tank.

Wow. A topic that comes up all too often on this forum. I wonder if there's a way people could check, in advance, to see if it has?

*gasp* EUREKA!!!

I unfortunately have an airtex pump in my truck now :/ ....I put it in before I had a chance to be educated by the fine gentlemen around here. It's coming up on a year old here this spring so we'll see how long I can get out of it. I also lifted my bed and slid it back a ways until i could get to the fuel pump.

I just replaced mine with a Bosch from Rockauto, it was about the same price as the Denso and Delphi. So far so good, everything fit correctly when I got it. I also dropped the tank. I did it in about -5*F and put a little too much pressure on the fuel line, breaking the quick connect fitting at the end of the nylon line. If you happen to do that, it's a Dorman 800-91, 3/8" steel to 5/16" nylon, it'll have the blue tabs just like the original. I just used a heat gun to get the nylon to loosen up and spliced a little piece in to keep it the same length. So far it's working.
