Well I just finished removing the panel behind the driver seat. I saw the connection on top of the reel. It was still firmly attached. So I got it off the only thing that went off was the secondary buzzer the light remained on. So I tried cleaning it and reinstalled it. Buzzer came back on light still on full time. So I'm just guess and assume after 17 years it went bad I called around and found out its a dealer part so first thing tomorrow I'll call my local Dodge dealer and order the reel and all. So thanks for the help guys I appreciate it.

If it is only one wire, ground it, and see if the buzzer stops, and the light goes off.

If it is two wires, put a jumper between them. (bypass the switch.) See if that changes anything.

It's a two pin connector. With one pin has two wires going to it they're black with a red strip in em. The other pin the second one has a green wire going to it.

Green wire is power feed for the switch, the two black ones eventually go to ground. The additional wire there comes from the third brake light, and cargo lamps. Uses the same ground.....

So today I replaced the belt (reel) and all. And the buzzing came back and as soon as I pulled the belt out alil the buzzing stop and when clicked. Boom! Light still on even with a new reel. So now what? I have less than fifteen days til inspection. And no I can't remove the fuse. The ppl out here check for all dash lights to be in working order.

Check where the switch on the reel is supposed to ground.

Could this be related to the pass side or the back seat belts? Funny my truck does not care if I have my seat belts on or not, it will light up on the dash then go off after its started.

So this is an old one. I pretty much got annoyed and pulled the fuse. Well the local inspection station check all dash lights including seat belt. Once they didn't see the light come on they were kind enough to give me a free fuse and fail me. So here is where I stand the belt tensioner on the driver side has been replaced it had a sensor on top and well that only solved solved the buzzing the seat belt reminder light is stuck on. For the record before becoming stuck on. It was like merc225hp come on and with 15-30 seconds go off. So some step by step instructions would be greatly appreciate.

If you buckle up the passenger side, does the lite go off?
