oil pressure problem

Priming the oil pump is different than priming the engine. Merc's post is for the pump.


To prime the engine the distributor and intermediate shaft is pulled. Then a priming shaft is attached to a drill and inserted in the pump to turn the pump rotor in the direction of the firing order.

On a fresh build, that is definitely the best way, but, as this is just a replacement pump, the rest of the motor should already be primed.
