Default Blowing transmission fluid out and terrible shifting on a 2001 2500

Hey guys, My 2001 2500 V10 is blowing transmission fluid out of the front and shifting terribly. Is this indicative of the torque converter going out? When it sits idling in gear then I go to take off it acts as if I am holding the brake down too.

Thanks Guys

Time for the trans to come out for a rebuild. Sounds like the pump itself is failing.

Thanks, I am planning on having the tranny re-built since I will have it out anyway. I have never re-built one....I was also considering taking out the automatic and replacing it with a 5-speed.

Most of the linkage parts are probably fairly standard. I think finding a trans and such would be the challenging part. The V-10s aren't all that common, and finding one with a manual trans is even less common.
