Exclamation Dodge Owner but not the Dodge Issue..

My Dodge is running well but my other truck that I use for hauling is having an issue. It is a 1995 Chevy 3500 gasser. It was running poorly as far accelerating slowly and missing. We changed out the plugs, the wires, the distributor cap and the rotor.Put it all back together and it wouldnt start.Backfired through the throttle body with a little flame at first. Then I cranked it a little longer since it wouldnt start and then she made a pop noise and the dipstick and pcv valve flew from the engine compartment.Never had that happen! So any clues what happened or how bad this could be?

Put the plug wires back in the right rotation? Don't laugh, I've seen it happen.
