Default Door won't shut on 2000 1500

Hello folks.
I hate for my first posting on the forum to be me asking a question, but I'm at my wits end.
This morning when I was going to town, I didn't notice it, but my seat belt was in the door jam, and I accidentally slammed the door on it. No biggy, it's happened before. So I pull my seat belt in and try to shut my door, but it wont shut. I have worked on it all morning and it won't shut.
I checked the latch in the door, and it is open, but it still just wont shut all the way. This makes for a pain, since it's like 19 outside

Any advice or help on this would be awesome!!!
Thanks,
Trip

Use a screwdriver, or ratchet extension, to work the latch manually a couple times, make sure it actually works as it should. Might need a little lube in there to free it up.... (might have to warm it up too..... just hitting it with a hairdryer would be adequate.)

Welcome to DF!

Well, I did that, and it's not frozen up. I even put some WD-40 on it, but no joy. But I just realized that it is sagging down when I close it, and isn't aligning up right with the latch on the door frame.
So now I just need to figure out how to raise it back up, since all the bolts are tight.

Either replace the pins/bushings in the upper hinge, or loose up the hinges, and readjust the door. That pretty much requires at least two people, or, very creative use of the jack......

At least it's not frozen like mine was. I ended up heating my door with a space heater in my garage. Good luck getting it lined back up, those things are heavy.

Well I got it fixed

Turns out all I had to do was shim out the striker plat with some 3/8" washers, and it latches just like it used to.
I've been told that I should sell it and buy a Ford F350
