Default 1995 dodge ram 1500 5.9 oil consumption

Okay, I've posted a thread about this before and I was told to do a compression test since my dodge was burning a lot of oil. My compression was perfect. It only smokes after sitting over night and dumps A LOT at 3k and over rpms. If I rev it over 3k for about 15 seconds the oil pressure will go to 0 and shut off the engine. I haven't noticed any power loss and JUST replaced the plenum with a hughes about 2 weeks ago. I was thinking that the valve seals are bad (I hope that's the problem). It feels like I have a gas cummins! Tell me what you guys are thinking

Valve seals are a likely bet.

Oil pressure dropping to nothing, and the engine dieing isn't good though......

Also I forgot to mention..... I sometimes smell gas when I get out of my truck from a drive. Never paid any attention to it. It didn't start to happen until my truck started to smoke. I did some research and found out that the valves control the fuel to air mixture in the cylinders..... Might of found my answer?

You may have some leaky injectors...the gas smell. Holding rpm's at 3000 while in park is not helping your motor out..my opinion. Does it clatter under a load when accelerating?

The engine has PLENTY of power. I recently did the plenum and cleaned the injectors out and gave the intake, fuel rails, and intake a fresh paint job. I do here a little ticking noise when accelerating but I'm almost positive its a exhaust manifold leak. Also replaced pcv valve because it was soaked in oil.

Valves merely allow stuff in/out of the cylinders. If your engine is running good, they are doing their job.

I would go lookin' for that gas smell though.
