how much ya wanna spend? What kind of power are you looking for? What do you generally use your truck for?

Welcome to DF!

Like HeyYou asked; what are your intentions? Drag truck? Mud truck? Daily driver? Off road only? Cannot begin to answer without that kind of info.

7500 I'd be real tempted to find a short block 360 and build it the exact way you want

Start looking/searching for crate motors.

This place has one for $5500 makes some good hp, I might bring that cam down a bit in lift more like .525, other than that looks like a good choice.

Hi,

I'm looking for a daily drive with power and I want something that I can just drop in.

The first engine in mercs link looks REALLY tasty. Slightly milder cam, and you would be golden. Nicely within budget as well, even if you are paying someone else to install it. Don't forget the tuner though.

PIE is a great place to get an engine from and a great guy to deal with. I spent maybe 3 hours one day talking with him on the phone just picking his brain. And I wasn't even buying anything from him at the time. This would be the first place I went to for a drop in engine.

If you've got 7 grand to spend, get a Hemi. Seriously...get a Hemi. I love my 360 and it does great but I couldn't see throwing 7 grand at it, you'll make a lot more power with a hemi for 7 grand and supporting mods.

For $2500 Average 5.7 Hemi price you'll have 90-100hp more off the bat, lighter engine and the ability to make much more with every dollar there after spent. At the same time you could have an awesome 360 for $3500, the options are endless.
