01 infinity speakers issue
So I just bought a 2001 Ram 1500 Sport. Extended cab and 4x4. I originally thought that the passenger side speakers were bad but now they have all gone out, tweeter, door, extended cab door. They have come back on but don't stay on for long. I believe it's the amp with the infinity system? I am replacing the door speakers but was wondering how to go about wiring it to keep the tweeters and rear door speakers working?
What exactly am I checking with the connections? I pulled I. Apart and looked but wasn't sure what to check. Didn't see any cut wires so I just assumed. Everything is currently stock besides the deck that I just installed. But this issue occurred before the deck swap, there was already an aftermarket deck. When I initially put this new deck in all speakers started working and then after about 30 minutes the right side all stopped again.
The connections to the speakers are usually the culprits. They are little clips that hook straight to the speakers. They get corroded and get a dull film over them like aluminum. Try taking sandpaper and just go over it lightly until you see a silver instead of a duller grey

Its possible. Don't rule anything out until its checked. You can take a multimeter and check the wires coming from the radio to the amp. then you can check the wires from the amp to the speaker or what ever is next in line. That's the best way to ensure a closed circuit all the way around.

Thanks. Just as a side note I really don't know much about car audio. Just how to install a deck/speakers and match wires to be honest. Looking at the infinity speakers though I'm baffled at how to wire a new speaker in there with that amp and keep the tweeters and rear speakers working.

Are all the foam surrounds still good on those woofers? Could be part of your issue.
A "How To" link if bad and you want to repair.............

I plan on replacing the front door speakers anyways since I already bought them from crutch field. They also sent me a wiring diagram and how to bypass the amp so whenever I receive the speakers I'll give that a shot.

And welcome to DF!
