Well i popped the hood on my truck today before heading to work. The right side had a little oil build up around the intake gasket and the left side a little more oil build up than the right side. If this helps I had to take my throttle body off over the summer and clean it because there was so much carbon build up on it. It wouldn't stay running until it warmed up.

Wow that sounds like a terrible plenum failure

And a bad PCV valve

And leaking gaskets

Again thanks for the input. Hopefully I can get around
to take it apart this weekend depending on the weather.

Update. Finally got to work on my truck last weekend. I replaced the plenum gasket, intake gasket, spark plugs, wires and cleaned the fuel injectors. I haven't towed anything yet to see if it had more power but I can tell you this, it runs a lot smoother and sounds great. I took the plenum off and it was pretty nasty in there.

Should have done the timing set while you were right there.

Let us know how it feels.

I hope you got the aluminum plate on there and not just the regular oem style gasket from the parts stores....or else you might have to do this whole exercise again if you plan on keeping the truck for another 50-100k. If you have oversize tires (285/75/16 or the like) with 3.55 gears, this may also contribute to your towing difficulties...
