Default Newbie saying "hi"

I wanted to introduce myself here in hopes of making a few friends who might help me out if I have an issue later on.
Name's Angie, and I drive a '97 1500, 318 5speed 4x4. Just bought it, so I'm still finding out about it and all the PO's work. So far the only issue I've found is air in the cooling system (gurgle from heater core) but I suppose anything else could happen next. I don't have any specific questions right this minute, but keep an eye out for me in the future. Thanks, guys!

Welcome.

First of all, the mileage sucks on these trucks, get used to it.

Second, read over this https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html It's a common problem.

Third, you have a manual so you do not need to worry about the trans problems.

Now as far as the air in the coolant, the easiest way to get rid of it is to get the front right (passenger) side of the truck up as high as you can on a hill, curb, jack stands, etc., remove the radiator cap (after it cools or you could get burnt) then start it and let it run for a while with the heat on. The air will rise to the highest point (rad cap opening when raised) and should burp out. I never had to do it, but several here have.
