Default Transmission slipping

The trans is 60k miles old on a rebuilt 48re. It's run strong for this whole time. All of the sudden it has trouble taking off from a stop when hot. Once I get it up to about 20mph it runs and shifts fine. I changed the fluid, filter and adjusted the tension on the outside adjustment. No change. Anybody have any suggestions?

Welcome to DF. What is the year of your truck? If its a 48RE, it'll have to be a 2500 or bigger, and a diesel or V10.

Moving you to the correct section. For future reference:

Did you check fluid level in neutral? Engine fully warm, and running? (in neutral is important.)

Oh and it's a 2004 with 220000 miles. Runs great! except for the tranny.

Could check the TV Cable:

Could also do a band adjustment, see what that gets you.

A rebuild could be in your future though.
