That one specifically won't work either.... you do indeed need thick cut gears, unless you already have 4.10s in your axles. (that's the break point for the carrier.) Otherwise, you would need to replace the carrier as well.

They have the http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dana-60-Ring-and-Pinion-Gear-Set-4-88-THICK-GM-FORD-JEEP-INTERNATIONAL-/201026239740?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ece18fcfc&vxp=mtr in thick cut 4.88s for around 200 bucks.....

hmm so how does the thick cut keep the carrier from breaking? That's confusing lol.

The 'break' I am referring to is which carrier for which gear ratio. The D60 break point is 4.10. If you have something lower than that, (3.55, for instance.) and want to go to 4.56, you either need to replace the carrier, or get the thick cut gears. If you already have 4.10s, and want to go to 4.56, they will bolt right in, as those ratios use the same carrier. Since your sig shows you have 3.55's, and you want to go to 4.88's, you will need either thick cut gears, or, you will have to buy a new carrier.

Good time to upgrade to a posi of some sort? (yes, I love spending other peoples money. )

I would like to go to them 4.88s but that might be too low for my 35s lol. I want power because my truck is slower than anything on this planet. I'll probably just stick with 4.56s here.

Might wanna get them major overhauling kits from Randy's Ring and Pinion too while you're in there.

4.88's and 35's puts your engine RPM 200 higher at 60 MPH in O/D.

I'm going 4:56 with my 33's
35's will be livable with them.
I ran 36's on 4:10. That was so wrong.
4:88 would've been so nice.

How's the mileage and power? I can't seem to find rear 4.88s for my truck on Randy's Ring and Pinion. I want power but I need highway gears too.
