Is there A Difference?
Is there much difference between truck models like 2500 or 3500? Reason I ask is I purchased a tailgate handle from eBay, and it doesn't list comparability for the 1500 regular can model here:

It fits the 99 model of the same exact truck, and its a 2nd gen, so I assume it will fit right? Correct me if I'm wrong when you look at it please

In my experience, they do that because Dodge switched body styles for the 1500 in 2002, but didn't switch the 2500 and 3500 until 2003. Since a lot of the interchange lists are year specific, it treats all 1500s as different from their heavier counterparts. Hence, a part will interchange with all 1994-2002 2500s and 3500s, but wouldn't fit a 2002 1500 so the software says no 1500s at all.
In short, HeyYou is right.

Well regardless it looks almost exactly like the tailgate unit I pulled out of my tailgate to take a look at it to see if I could fix the sticking handle, it looks the exact same down to the T, with the way everything is positioned on the handle, to the way it screws in, it's already ordered before I seen it not list the 1500, but when it get's here it wont hurt to take the old one out and set them side by side lol, i'm sure it'll fit.
Also, I did look at 4 local automotive stores, I can get one from them, but none of them were cheaper than $40+, this one is said to meet OEM standards, and I don't expect the truck to last 20 more years lol, so paying the $20 for the eBay handle fit my needs lol.

Auto manufacturers have done stupider things in the past.
