Default 2000 short bed gas tank size ?

Thinking about changing the fuel pump on my 2000 1500 standard cab short bed. How do I find out what size gas tank I have ?

Best way is a build sheet:

http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/...ull&category=R

But you could get an idea on how many gallons it takes to fill from mostly empty.

I'd bet it has a 26 gallon tank, 35 gallon is the next regular size up I thinks.

Airtex is known as one of the worst quality fuel pumps for our truck.
A denso or delphi brand is much better quality and can be found at rockauto's website for like $170 or something like that. Here's a link for a 5% discount at rockauto https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...c-code-11.html

Don't get the Airtex you will be doing the job all over again in six months, they don't last to long. But it would be under warranty if it did go bad again. Denso and Mopar are the better pumps but I also understand the cashflow thing.

It does. Do it once, do it right, don't worry about it again for 100K miles or more.
